The Summary
What we set, and what we don't
We use the smallest set of cookies that lets the website function. We don't track you across other sites. We don't sell your data to advertisers. We don't use cookies to build a profile of your interests. The map on our trip pages and the embedded fonts from Google may set their own cookies; we have no control over those and we link to their policies below.
Essential
Always on
localStorage
Your saved journeys
When you tap the heart icon on a journey, we remember it in your browser's localStorage so the saved list survives a page refresh. Nothing leaves your device. Clear your browser data to delete it.
sessionStorage
Search and filter state
If you filter the journeys page and then click into a trip, we remember the filter so the back button returns you to where you were. Cleared when you close the tab.
Third-party
From elsewhere
Google Fonts
Cormorant Garamond & Manrope
The site loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may log the request to deliver the font.
OpenStreetMap
Route maps
Trip pages render a small map using tiles from OpenStreetMap via Carto's CDN. Their privacy notice applies to those requests.
Image & video CDNs
Unsplash & Mixkit
Our placeholder imagery currently comes from Unsplash and Mixkit while we ship real photography from our own archive. Their hosts can see the request — usual web traffic, no cookies set by us.
No tracking
By choice
We don't run analytics, ads, or session replay
No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no Hotjar, no session-replay tools. If we ever add server-side analytics we'll update this page and tell you. The aim is to keep the site fast, the privacy story simple, and the cookie banner unnecessary.
Control
In your hands
Clear, block, or opt out at any time
Browsers let you block storage entirely or clear it per site. Doing that will simply remove your saved journeys list; nothing about the experience breaks. Questions? Write to privacy@sarahdiscoveries.com.
